Community Service (Day 1)
Students will complete one day of community service assisting local residents and businesses. This will usually occur within walking distance of Tawa College for all Year 10 students. This day has the key focus of citizenship and has been a great success in previous years.
Some possible activities include gardening, cleaning up parks, helping out the greater Tawa community, and aiding eldery folks with household tasks. The activity is both a great experience and teaches students about the importance of community.
Ferg's Kayaks (Day 2)
Students will travel into Wellington on the train where they will each participate in 2 hours of Rock Climbing as well as 2 hours of either Kayaking or Stand Up Paddle boarding. This day will involve team work and collaboration between the students, helping to develop team work skills and unity between the students.
It is also a fantastic chance for students to try something they may not have done before and possibly even push their limits of fear and comfort.
